Eat your heart out, McDonald’s. Weird Al Yankovic has a supersized concert barreling down to the Starlight Theatre on June 26th, and believe him, it’s gonna be good times two! This Summer of ‘25, the GRAMMY Award-winning artist presents his spankin’ new “Bigger & Weirder” Tour, a multimedia spectacle slated for 65 dates in North America and joined by guest clown Puddles Pity Party.
The fun is mandatory. No exceptions. Weird Al Yankovic’s upcoming “comedy rock show” will let fans experience his timeless parodies of pop culture classics LIVE, featuring hilarious hits, such as “Smells Like Nirvana,” “Eat It,” and “Amish Paradise.” New Wave, Michael Jackson, gangsta rap, Lady Gaga — name it, Weird Al will make a polka medley out of it! With an eight-piece ensemble that includes his original band, this Platinum-certified accordion star will entertain through fabulous costume changes and deep-cut performances, too, projected on a state-of-the-art video screen backdrop. Tickets are out - grab yours now!
Life is stranger than fiction. Funnier, too.
Good morning, people! Your old pal, Weird Al Yankovic, has a diabolically good time planned for this futuristic year of 2025. The “Bigger & Weirder” Tour is coming, and “bigger” is putting it lightly. The multi-media production lines up a massive North American takeover with 65 shows to choose from spanning summer and fall. Huh? Too many choices? Okay, we’ll pick you one this time: Thursday, June 26th, at the Starlight Theatre. That’s in Kansas; watch out for jazz musicians and BBQ-induced hypertension. Those things will get you.
So, you like polka? “Bigger and Weirder” is the live Weird Al Yankovic experience dialed up to eleven and doubled again! Behold the foremost song parodist of his generation, winner of five GRAMMY Awards, a six-time Platinum recording musician, and reluctant lover of cheese pizza. This Thursday evening will showcase the much-awaited comeback of the artist’s iconic parodies, such as “Like a Surgeon,” “Amish Paradise,” “White & Nerdy,” and “Smells Like Nirvana.” A reel of his greatest hits for sure, but there’s more to the Weird Al legend in store!
Fans will be ecstatic to learn that “Bigger and Weirder” extends to underrated rarities from way back up to Al’s final album, the Billboard number-one Mandatory Fun, which enjoyed its 10th Anniversary earlier in 2024. Oh! And polka medleys, of course! “Polkarama,” anyone?
The upcoming “comedy rock show” will also feature a supersized version of the headliner’s long-time band with four additional players, costume changes that would make a runway model’s head spin, and towering video screens for an all-inclusive view of the spectacle. Al’s designated guest, Puddles Pity Party, is a Pagliacci-inspired clown standing seven feet tall on two feet, as seen in America’s Got Talent or with Les Claypool and Keenan-fronted bands. The guy’s got an opera singer’s lungs for days, perfect for stealing Weird Al’s spotlight.
“This is kind of a ‘best of both worlds’ tour. We’ll be doing all the big crowd-pleasing parodies as well as some deep cuts for the hardcore fans – but with twice as many players on stage, everything is going to sound twice as good!”
Weird Al Yankovic, aka “Not Daniel Radcliffe,” will serve a complete course of music and comedy on Thursday, June 26th, at the Starlight Theatre, Kansas City’s highly reputed concert landmark. It sports world-class amenities, nearly 8,000 high-end seats, great eats, and a gorgeous backdrop in a historic site worth witnessing alone. Still, Weird Al would love it if you wanted to see him, too. Keep him in mind, and book your seats today!
